Eating calcium-rich foods—such as kale, yogurt, and Chinese cabbage—may be a better way to protect your bones. Researchers from Washington University in St. Louis found that women who got most of their calcium from foods had denser, healthier bones than those who took calcium supplements, even though their total calcium intake was slightly lower.
